He is considered one of the most important directors of all time worldwide.
For many young filmmakers, he is a mentor figure, particularly for Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter, Mud, Midnight Special, Loving). The 39-year-old director, known for his independent films, is at a turning point in his career. He is now working for a major studio on his next film, Alien Nation.
He discusses his style and influences with Martin Scorsese, whose expertise on cinema is brilliant and insightful. The master shares his experience with one of the most promising young directors of his generation, during an intimate conversation.
